Born: 11-20-1951 in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. Grew up in Vancouver, BC. Got my green card
and moved to Washington state in 1981 after marrying my second wife who was an American. Out
of work in the great recession of 1982-3 so joined the U.S. Army at the tender age of 31. I was 6
months older than my drill sergeant! He used to have me lead the runs in the morning.....wo to the
young 17 year old recruit who had to drop out when I was leading. Anyhow, became a cannon
crewman on an M109A3 155mm Howitzer Self Propelled. Made Sergeant in 3 years, and became a
US citizen. They wouldn't let me play with the nuke rounds without citizenship. They were pretty
fun that way.

Was stationed at Ft. Hood, TX for a couple of years and then to Germany for a few years. When my
wife left, I took the kids to Calgary, Alberta, Canada where I enrolled in university and got my
engineering degree. I now live just south of Raleigh, NC.

Worked out a lot while in the Army. Was running 6 miles per day, and weighed 205. Had worked
out off and on over the years, but never seriously. When I got out of the army all I did was drink and
eat and gain weight. I quit drinking about 4 years ago, and started working out seriously about 16
months ago. Haven't lost any weight (currently about 305), but sure feel better.
