Name-Chris Morris
Age-25 (6-28-1976)
Location-Big Island, Virginia
Married for 5 years, one child 4 years old.
I first battled weight in 1998. I had gotten up to 205 lbs, no telling what
the BF% was. My wife and I discovered Richard Simmons at the beginning of
the year and we did his aerobic tapes faithfully 5-6 days a week. By June, I
had gotten to 166 but was still flabby. Then due to work schedule changes,
we stopped exercising. Last summer, I finally decided to due something about
my weight. I had gotten to 230 lbs and realized that if I didn't do
something soon, then when my son began sports or other outdoor activities, I
would be useless. I began studying fitness and doing Tae-bo. Then my life
changed forever, my father-in-law gave me a home gym. I loved lifting,
though I knew nothing about it. By searching the net, I came across ASW and
some other newsgroups. I realized that to excel, I would have to switch to
free weights. After getting a power cage and olympic weights, I got down to
186 lbs and a 38" waist. Then in November, I got sick and decided to take a
week off. That week turned into 2 months and by the time I started lifting
seriously again, I had gotten back to 205 with a 48" waist. Armed with more
knowledge and some great help from ASW and now here, I have gotten to 177
with a 34.5" waist. I have a new outlook on life, and enjoy being able to
help others while still learning alot from the people at the WDB. Feel free
to email me at any time.
