Jordan Steigerwald' First meet

IT WAS AWESOME!!!!! Well everyting was not perfect but the few mistakes that I made are something that I will carry with me and learn from. The were about 20 lifters at the meet so it was kinda small but the competion was great.

weigh in-

224 pounds

Squat

I opened with

370
it was super easy and I did not even have a belt because I was so nervous that I forgot it.

2nd attempt

420

I nailed this one... The guy in front of me nailed 450 but he had a squat suit.

I made a huge mistake on my last attempt I should have stuck with 440 but I was dumb and decided to try to keep it close to the guy ahead of me who did 480 and nailed it.

my third attempt was 460 everything was great I got it out of the hole but I just lost it on the way up. That really got to me and it turned out to be a very costly mistake. But that is something that I will learn from. one thing that got me is that I did not have a good belt because mine broke a few weeks ago and I did not get one ordered so I had to use a wimpy leather bodybuilders belt ahhhhhh.

OK I got to bench and decide that that was it no more mistakes

BENCH
First attempt

255

way too easy but I just wanted to get a good feel for the pause.

2nd attempt

290

nailed it

last

310

I got this up and drove it home. I got one red because I did not wait for the rack command because I was so stoked. But it cleared so it was all good. This gave me 25+ pounds because the guy ahead of me missed his last attempt. Not bad for a raw pause I think that a shirt would probally give me 20 pounds so I have to order one soon.

going into the deadlift I was 35 pounds behind.

410

nailed it my form broke down a little though. I had to correct that.

2nd attempt..

430 PR

I nailed this one. and so did the guy ahead of me
for my last attempt I decided to try 465 because that would tie me with the guy ahead of me if he missed his final attempt.

third attempt
I had never even considered trying this much before. But I focused I did not even think for a second that I would miss it.
so I stepped up to the bar and....

465

NAILED IT it broke my old PR by 40 pounds!!!!!!

So that left all the pressure on Zack. He stepped up and got 470 it was close he had trouble with the lockout but he got it. And that was the meet. That left me with a grand total of

1195

which fell short of my goal of 1200 but I was still so stoked about that deadlift it did not matter. Anyway took 2nd overall and no trophy but got a cool t-shirt. Well that is it guys I hope you like my story let me know what you think.
