I started working out to get rid of the baby fat after my kids were born. But I hated aerobics at Golds, but at the time, that was all that was available. (unless you count the meat market, muscle bound oily bodybuilders that can’t look away from themselves in the mirror)

Then I ran into a friend at the hair salon, she looked great, dropped a ton of weight and told me about this personal fitness place that just opened up. I knew that was for me. I went the next day and loved it ever since.

I started power lifting right after I attended a meet with one of the other trainers at my gym. He was competing. I saw the women there, and I said, HEY, I CAN DO THAT. So I put on my game face and my trainer also a power lifter, became my coach.

I did my first meet in the spring of 2003 with WNPF. I nearly bombed because I committed the Cardinal sin: Opened with weight that was too heavy. So then I smartened up and since then, have been having the time of my life.

I have very little experience and I am always open to new and exciting power lifting experiences. I have made a number of new friends in power lifting. I love to lift and I love to watch my friends lift and cheer them on. I seek out advice from experienced lifters and love to learn. And I love this website.
